It's Been One Week

I used this song very, very early in this blog. I am using it again because this was one of my first CDs and probably my favorite song on the album (Stunt, BNL).

An Aside: back when I was pregnant with bub I turned 30. I didn't really update on my party because it was two days before my NT scan and a few days after I was expecting my results of the Panorama test. The party was amazing. At the end, we went inside and sang karokie. My brother picked that song for me to sing because I listened to it on repeat so many times in high school. Apparently he hated that song. Who knew.

Anyway I am one week into the two week wait. I triggered a week ago today- so actually I am not quite a week post ovulation. I have a snapshot on my cellphone of my trigger testing pictures from the cycle I conceived bub. I keep comparing them to this cycles. If pattern holds, I should be almost free of trigger tomorrow or Saturday- the pictures aren't very clear. By day 11 I knew I was pregnant. Not so very long to wait I guess. Tuesday or Wednesday. 5 or 6 days.

I'm not super invested. I would LOVE to be pregnant, but I won't be crushed if it's negative. I just want to know.

In case you were worrying about my waist line, I lost 5 pounds over the last 2 days.. so I guess that 8 pound gain was a fluke (for the most part)

In other news: Bub discovered his train table. He went around the house and collected all cars, trains and trucks (and buses, taxis etc) and put them all on the table: then he smashed them into each other!

Yipes- #microblogging Monday

I stepped on the scale this morning to see I've gained EIGHT pounds this cycle- it's day 16. WTH?

I am so bloated and uncomfortable.

I really don't think I've been overeating. May be just side effect of HCG or Femara?

In other news, 3DPO. I'm not playing the symptom spotting game this cycle, and even if I were implantation couldn't have happened yet.

Tick tick.

I'll update with more info next week- and hopefully have lost some weight :/

One

One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
U2, One

One follicle, 23.5mm told it was perfect
One "beautiful" uterus (I have been told my uterus is beautiful every time someone looks at it... strange, right)
Lining of 12ish mm

Triggered last night.

I feel creeping excitement that I don't really want to be feeling.

The Sound of Silence

Bub is still not talking.

He babbles very little. He does grunt, squeal, shriek, laugh and cry. Once or twice a day he'll babble consonants.

We are working on some sign language. He's recently learned an approximation of "more" which he enthusiastically uses for more food and more books. It's more like a sideways clap, but there is clearly an intention of more there.

He is exploding in terms of non-verbal communication- he now waves hi and bye when he hears either word. He claps when excited, when someone says 'yay' and when other people do. He nods yes and shakes head for no- again when he hears the word and when we do it. Adorably he shakes 'no' when he's about to do something he shouldn't (climb stairs, eat rocks, "enthusiastically pet the pets" (AKA hit them). He is an excellent pointer. Just now he pointed to me, then to the banner. Then he watched me to make sure I saw what he was looking at. None of these are every time, but I am confident enough to say he does them most of the time, especially when not deeply distracted, If he's reading, forget about it, he's engrossed.

His developmental specialist came over this morning, as she does every Wednesday. She was remarking on how smart he is. He knows what you're talking about. He correctly gets the items he is asked for, he continues to search for things that are out of sight but logically be in the place he's looking (i.e. ball rolls out of the room and under the table in there). He claps when I tell him it's time for lunch. He knows who people- and pet- are and if they are out of sight he will look for them where he would expect them to be- for example- uncle is usually in the TV room at my parents- he'll go down there if told to find uncle.

He is very engaged. He laughs and smiles. He is loving.

This is all excellent, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. I feel like I've been waiting to hear "mama" for 4 years. Still waiting.

I also feel like my ovaries are silent. This is CD11 and I am still low on the fertility monitor. Yesterday night I did an internet OPK and there was no second line. I have never seen such a thing happen. First round of Femara and I am terrified it will be anovulatory.

We find out tomorrow morning. Watch this space.

Last but not least on silence- my phone was stolen. LAME. I have a work phone so I am not out of contact, but it is a PIA to update people on which number to call. This includes the RE. I left a message so I could confirm tomorrow's appointment time but no one called me back. grrrr.

Stuck in Colder Weather

Hub and I were talking about this medicated cycle versus the last one. When I was on the clomid, I was not a nice person.  Angry and mean, says hub. On Femara I am just sad. Though there are some extenuating circumstances- I left my phone on a shelf while shopping and when I sewent back to grab it it had been taken. We called the phone, it rang but no one answered, called back a minute later and it had been turned off :(.

Also, it's still snowing. Seriously. Almost 90 inches of snow in less than a month.

In good news, I took the last two pills last night, so hopefully my mood rebounds. I have 5 days before follicle check and hopefully trigger shot.

Tick tick.

He said I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then?

Here We Go- One More Time

An update to my last post, my town got 24.3 inches in total over the 4 day snow storm I was talking about here. The initial forecast was 8-12 inches. Oops. Boston called a snow emergency which will end this afternoon (2+ days after the snow stopped). Driving is insane- there are few side streets where 2 cars can drive at the same time.
This was taken in a low part of the yard...
Because of that, UPS was not making one-day deliveries so I had to drive to pick up my femera, ovadril and sharps container at the fertility pharmacy. Because it was mostly highway driving, it only took 50% longer than it should have. The pharmacy was really nice, the people were really nice and I was in and out in 5 minutes.
Yesterday was CD3 so I took my two TINY pills last night at 9pm. So far so good, though I will say I was really, really tired this morning. It was very hard to wake up.  That could just be life with a toddler (!!) and several hours of shoveling. We’ll see over the next few days.

In a totally unrelated note, if any of you ladies LOVED the 90s, I strongly suggest watching Hindsight. It’s on VH1 and is available to watch online. It is trashy and wonderful :)

Here we go, one more time

Snow Cancellation- Not the Fun Kind

CD 2- no blizzard baby.

Enough said on that front.

The pharmacy called me this morning to discuss my order. I had been on a work call so they left a rather cryptic message. When I called them back, they said there was no deliveries going out today for delivery tomorrow because of the storm.

(It is snowing... AGAIN. More than a foot fell yesterday and they are expecting about 8-10 additional inches where I live today.)

They wanted me to make the 30 minute drive  to pick it up.  I'll drive to get it tomorrow and take it when I get home tomorrow night.

Those green lines are my chairs There is a firepit in front of them. :(

Confession Time

I'm a little buzzed.

I am a bit low at the moment. I think I broke my big toe this morning (climbing over a baby gate, holding the baby- it caught on the edge of the gate and something bad happened), hub had to go deal with an issue at work AGAIN. So  I had a bit of wine- 1/2 a glass (standard pour). Then I broke out in a horrible itching rash on my face, neck and shoulders. So I took some Bendryl, washed down with wine.

Why you ask?

BFN.

Again.

ONE Singular Sensation- Bub's Birthday Celebration

We had a really wonderful day for kins' party just before all the snow came and ruined Boston. Had we had the party just a weekend later, there would literally have been no parking and no party. As it is either Hub or I have to leave the house before my dad comes in the morning to watch kins because there is no where for him - just one additional car- to park.

Anyway I digress.

My friend took me to COSTCO the day before the party for party foods. It was a "rookie of the year" party so we had sports food- nacho bar, beer, soda, mini hot dogs in puff pastry (it snowed a bit the day before the party- ok FOR PARKING not ok for grilling). I had forgotten to get a cake but luckily they had a baseball cake as one of the themes they do and were able to have it ready for the following afternoon. We had pre-bought decorations, snacks and balloons far in advance of the party. I spent Saturday night creating sports themed decorations.

We lucked out and had a great day. I can only guess at the number of people that came- probably 35? House was packed!

The picture isn't awesome, but you can see the Concessions banner and the food table

I saw a similar banner on pinterest and loved it!

Covered with snow

I like LARGE storms. I love them really. I eat up the 24 hour coverage of blizzards, nor'easters, hurricanes etc.

That said, there have been 3.5 FEET of snow in less than a week. That is more snow than bub's height! We went from 5.5 inches on the year to 47.8 in FIVE DAYS.

The snow today forced a postponement of one of my favorite games of the year.

There is no where to put the snow- this giant bank of snow is outside of my office and takes up an entire block.

Yeah, snowbanks OVER A CAR

This is outside my house right now.

That dent in the middle is where the street should be

Let it snow?

Well the first of (February) was covered with snow
And so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston.
